Introduction of the Master’s and PhD Programs in Mathematics at Hasanuddin University, Held at FMIPA Universitas Mulawarman

Samarinda, September 27, 2024 – The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) conducted an introduction session for its Master’s and PhD Programs in Mathematics at the Theater Room, Smart Learning Center (SLC), FMIPA Universitas Mulawarman. The event featured Dr. Muhammad Zakir, M.Si., Head of the Master’s Program in Mathematics, Prof. Dr. Syamsyuddin Toaha, M.Sc., Head of the PhD Program in Mathematics, and Dr. Firman, S.Si., M.Si., Head of the Mathematics Department at FMIPA UNHAS.

During the session, Dr. Muhammad Zakir, M.Si., presented the various advantages and opportunities offered by the Master’s Program in Mathematics at UNHAS, including its innovative curriculum and comprehensive research support. Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Syamsyuddin Toaha, M.Sc., highlighted the PhD Program, focusing on advanced research development in applied and theoretical mathematics, as well as international collaboration opportunities available for students.

Dr. Firman, S.Si., M.Si., as the Head of the Mathematics Department at FMIPA UNHAS, emphasized the importance of collaboration between universities to enhance the quality of mathematics education and research. “We hope that this introduction session helps students at Universitas Mulawarman become more familiar with our programs and encourages them to pursue their studies at UNHAS. It is also our effort to strengthen the network and synergy between FMIPA UNHAS and FMIPA Universitas Mulawarman,” he stated.

The event was attended by students and faculty members from FMIPA Universitas Mulawarman who were interested in pursuing higher education. The participants responded positively to the information presented and were eager to learn more about the programs offered at UNHAS.

This session is part of the Mathematics Department’s commitment at UNHAS to continue advancing higher mathematics education in Indonesia and expanding access and collaboration with other educational institutions.
