The 2nd International Conference on Science (ICOS) was successfully held by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Hasanuddin University Makassar, Indonesia. The conference was held on 2 – 3 November 2017, with the main theme “Science for Sustainable Development and Quality of Life Better” in collaboration with the Indonesian Mathematical Society of Sulawesi (IndoMS), Indonesian Physical Society (HFI), Association of Indonesian Geophysicists (HELP ) and the Indonesian Biology Consortium (KOBI).
The 2nd ICOS has been attended by many participants from various corners of the world. The main theme of the conference was “Science for Sustainable Development and Better Quality of Life”. The theme has brought together scientists, researchers and experts from various backgrounds and application areas. Special emphasis has been given to promoting interactions between theoretical, experimental, and case studies, so that high-level exchanges in new and emerging fields in Physics, bioscience, computational science and mathematics in science and technology. Researchers from universities, institutes and related industries, working on various fields of science were presented as both presenters and participants.
ICOS 2017 organizers intend to publish original research papers and research reviews, as well as supporting materials such as case studies, technical reports, and others. These papers were reviewed by reviewers, to be published in the Journal of Physics: Conference Series (JPCS) indexed by Scopus and Quartile 4 (Q4 by Scimago).
Theoretical scientific works and Applied Sciences in certain fields have been proposed. These fields include:

• Chemistry
• Computational Sciences
• Environmental Sciences
• Geophysics
• Material Science
• Physics and Applied Physics
• Statistics.

[:in]Konferensi Internasional Ilmu Pengetahuan (ICOS) ke-2 telah berhasil diselenggarakan oleh Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Hasanuddin Makassar, Indonesia. Konferensi tersebut diadakan pada tanggal 2 – 3 November 2017, dengan tema utama “Ilmu untuk Pembangunan yang Berkelanjutan dan Kualitas Hidup yang Lebih Baik” bekerjasama dengan Masyarakat Matematika Indonesia Sulawesi (IndoMS), Indonesian Physical Society (HFI), Asosiasi Ahli Geofisika Indonesia (HAGI) dan Konsorsium Biologi Indonesia (KOBI).
ICOS ke-2 telah dihadiri oleh banyak peserta dari berbagai sudut dunia. Tema utama konferensi tersebut adalah “Science for Sustainable Development and Better Quality of Life”. Tema tersebut telah mempertemukan para ilmuwan, peneliti dan ahli dari beragam latar belakang dan area aplikasi. Penekanan khusus telah diberikan untuk mempromosikan interaksi antara studi teoritis, eksperimental, dan studi kasus, sehingga pertukaran tingkat tinggi di bidang baru dan yang baru muncul di bidang Fisika, bioscience, ilmu komputasi dan matematika dalam sains dan teknologi. Peneliti dari universitas, institut dan industri terkait, mengerjakan berbagai bidang ilmu dipresentasikan baik sebagai presenter maupun peserta.
Penyelenggara ICOS 2017 bermaksud untuk menerbitkan makalah penelitian dan ulasan penelitian asli, serta bahan pembantu seperti studi kasus, laporan teknis, dan lain-lain. Makalah-makalah tersebut ditinjau oleh pengulas, untuk dipublikasikan dalam Journal of Physics: Conference Series (JPCS ) yang diindeks oleh Scopus dan Quartile 4 (Q4 oleh Scimago).
Karya ilmiah teoritis dan Ilmu Terapan di bidang tertentu telah diajukan. Bidang tersebut meliputi:

• Ilmu Lingkungan
