UNHAS, August 16, 2023 – The Department of Mathematics at Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) organized the Welcome, Campus Introduction, and Nationalism and Citizenship Education (PKKMB) event on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. The event took place with great enthusiasm in the Ballroom of the Science Building at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UNHAS. Under the theme “Exploring Mathematics for a Glorious Future”.
In this event, a total of 239 new students participated with high spirits. This number consists of 79 students from the Mathematics Program, 93 students from the Information Systems Program, and 67 students from the Actuarial Science Program. They were given the opportunity to get acquainted with the campus environment, receive important information about academic regulations, as well as gain insights into national values and character traits that must be upheld.
During this PKKMB, the UNHAS Department of Mathematics also combined the event with the announcement of outstanding student achievements. Awards were given to students who have shown exceptional dedication and achievements in both academic and non-academic fields. This demonstrates the commitment of the UNHAS Department of Mathematics to provide well-deserved recognition for the students’ accomplishments.
“In an atmosphere of camaraderie and high spirits, we are very proud to welcome 239 new students into the extended family of the UNHAS Department of Mathematics,” stated Prof. Dr. Ibuana Mentari, Dean of FMIPA UNHAS. “We hope that this PKKMB will inspire and motivate new students to pursue their academic journey with diligence and enthusiasm.”
The UNHAS Department of Mathematics PKKMB event is expected to mark a positive beginning for the new students in getting to know the campus environment and starting their academic journey. With their blazing enthusiasm, they are ready to embrace a bright future through the study of mathematics and make positive contributions to society and the nation.
