Makassar, 25 May 2026 The Department of Mathematics, FMIPA, Hasanuddin University, extends its appreciation and congratulations to Sabil Khairat Amruddin for the impressive achievement he secured at the North Countries Universities Mathematical Competition 2026 (NCUMC-2026), organised by ITMO University, Russia.
In the competition, Sabil secured a bronze medal, placing third. This achievement demonstrates the academic ability, perseverance and competitiveness of students on the Bachelor’s Programme in Mathematics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Hasanuddin University, in the field of mathematics at an international level.
The NCUMC is an international mathematics competition for university students that challenges participants to solve various mathematical problems using advanced analytical skills, logic and problem-solving abilities. The NCUMC-2026 was hosted by ITMO University in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and served as a forum for students from various countries to test their academic competence whilst broadening their international experience in the field of mathematics.
This achievement demonstrates that Unhas students are capable of competing in global academic forums, particularly in the field of basic sciences, which require precision, creative thinking and strong reasoning skills.
